EDC to Participate in NSCC “Kids to College” Program

NewtonThe EDC has been asked by the North Shore Community College to participate in their “Kids to College” Program, starting on February 15th. We have created an awesome 5-part series that will focus on math, language and science concepts linked to nature and the environment.

The EDC will kick-off and end the program with visits from their mobile classroom, featuring mini-horses, Newton and Darwin, and other animals!

The program is offered to children, grades K-5, and takes place on Saturdays, Feb. 15-March 15, at the NSCC’s Lynn Campus. A detailed description of each session can be found in this flyer. EDC_NSCC_KidsToCollege

Equine Discovery Center Mobile Classroom Debuts at Stoneham Town Day

The Equine Discovery Center debuted our new mobile classroom at Town Day in Stoneham, MA on September 7th. We were sponsored by the National Coalition for Educational and Cultural Programs (NCECP), an organization whose mission is to improve the quality of care for all children via affordable educational and cultural programs to those who help shape their lives: teachers, communities and families.

The weather was beautiful and we had many visitors who kept us on our toes as they asked questions about our animal ambassadors and attended the many “micro lessons” taught by director, Tricia Bridgeo.  We had a blast and couldn’t have asked for a better kick-off for the EDC’s mobile classroom.

Fun in the Summer Sun

It seems we’ve had both monsoons and heatwaves this summer. But at the EDC, we’re also having fun.  There are camp kids visiting, horse shows to go to, nature to enjoy everywhere, quality time with the horses, and new things brewing up for the fall.

Stalls Available Starting June 1st

The Equine Discovery Center is a great place to board your horse!  It’s a quiet, relaxing and welcoming facility that has every convenience to treat your horse royally and make you feel right at home.

Located on 75 acres in southern New Hampshire, the EDC is close to major highways and features many amenities, such as:

  • Large 80 x 150 Coverall indoor arena with heated viewing room, electric sides for ventilation and state of the art sound system.

  • Trails on property as well as miles of trails across the road on the “rails to trails” system

Winter is a Great Time for a Visit from the EDC’s Mobile Classroom

Each equine-related weekly adventure is based upon math, language and science concepts and designed with a flexible nature that allows participants of any age to reach their highest potential. We have a lot going on this summer at the EDC!  There are a variety of horse and adventure camps for kids happening in the upcoming weeks. We also offer a fun and affordable “family adventure” for families and groups who would like to learn more about our day-to-day activities and everything that’s involved in caring for horses and their surroundings.
